The National Coach Museum official book is a full proposal approach
to the new building.
This special issue of Uzina books, begins with a story about the place
of Belém told by the architect José Manuel Fernandes which makes the
framework of the new Museum in the context of historic buildings and
heritage that make up this part of the city.
The architect Manuel Graça Dias continues with a text of analysis to the
buildings architecture through a path that proposes to the reader and where
the strengths of the work are highlighted.
A remarkable interview made by Daniele Pisani to the author architect
of the Museum – Paulo Mendes da Rocha is followed, clarifying us about all the steps
from the initial idea to the final work.
The short text by the co-author architect Ricardo Bak Gordon who supported the project precedes
a magnificent photo album of all exterior and interior space of the Museum which corresponds to a large exhibition
with the signature of the well-known architecture photographer Fernando
Guerra.
Finally, the technical drawings of the project and the statements
of the Engineers Carlos de Lacerda – Project Manager and Rui Furtado who
explores the most challenging aspects of the building process are presented.
